Silent night holy night kalimba tab

The song 'Silent Night' was written by Joseph Mohr and was composed by Franz Xaver Gruber. The German christmas carol hymn was first performed on christmas eve in 1818, a few hours after Joseph Mohr wrote the song he was in need of playing some music but couldn't due to his church organ being broken hence the lyrics: 'silent night, holy night'. It was originally called: 'Stille Nacht' but was later on translated into 140 other languages. Popularity for the music came in 1854 when the song went global and was used by folk singers that used the song in their shows.

Despite its age, the song is still one of the most popular children's nursery rhymes to date. In the past 35 years, the song has been recorded at least 750 times and has been performed by many musicians and bands. Bing Crosby recorded his version of Silent night in 1945 and it became a christmas classic. After that it was by Julie Andrews in 1949, Simon & Garfunkel in 1966, the carpenters in 1978, Boyz II Men in 1993, Mariah Carey in 1994, Kirk Franklin in 1996 and Justin Bieber in 2011.
