These fantastic bronze castings depict Buddha, the founder of Buddhism. They each incorporate a robe of verdigris into the casting. When depicting Buddha, the positioning of the hands (Mudra) is very important and different mudra represents different things. Here, Buddha is shown in the Abhaya mudra ('the murda of protection.') The right-hand acts a shield protecting from fear.
