Avatar the Last Airbender – Leaves from the Vine (Kalimba Tab)

The song `Leaves from the vine` was originally sung by Taylor Davis and was released in 2020. It was featured in the TV series 'Avatar - the last airbender. The song appears in “The Tales of Ba Sing Se,” the 15th episode in Avatar's second season. It is a very popular easy to play song for the kalimba. The meaning of the song refers to the leaves falling and no longer being attached to the vine that gives them life but ultimately the song is about hope. In the series, Iroh sings the song.

Lyrics

Leaves from the vine
Falling so slow
Like fragile tiny shells
Drifting in the foam
Little soldier boy
Come marching home
Brave soldier boy
Comes marching home

Leaves from the vine was originally written by Michael Dante Dimartino and composed by Jeremy Zuckerman and Benjamin Wynn. The song was sung during the second season episode 15 of Avatar the Last Airbender known as Tales of Ba Sing Se. Which was released September 29, 2006. The voice actor of Iroh named Mako Iwamatsu sang this song. This episode was dedicated to Mako as he passed away shortly before it’s release. Fans know this song also as “Mako’s song”.
