Description

The Jammer Djembe Drum series is our mid range and is a step up from the Pura djembe drums. These products are high quality, and feature the same as what you’d expect from a beginner drum but with the addition of ethnic carvings to improve the aesthetic value, the sizes also go up to 60cm and from small to large the professionalism of the instrument increases.

These Jammer Djembe Drums are tough and are suitable for use in schools and inexperienced drum students. The jammer djembe drums are made in the finest drum factory in Asia. The drums are decorated in African colours, design styles and some have Indonesian carvings. Even though the 60cm comes with a free protective drum hat you may want to consider getting some straps and a drum bag to help protect the drum whilst travelling or when storing. If you are looking for the best djembe drum, look no further. Due to the handmade nature of these products designs may slightly vary but loveliness comes as standard.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the djembe suitable for beginners?

The djembe drum is a great musical instrument for beginners and is easy to learn for anyone committed to daily practice. The main learning curves are to do with learning to play the three main tone types: the slap, the bass, and the tone.

How to play the djembe?

To play the djembe drum, hold it between your legs or on a dedicated stand, then play a rhythm. One of the easiest rhythms to learn is called 'One banana,' and it’s played by lightly striking the edge of the drum with your left hand, then your right hand, then slap the center of the drum with your left and then your right, and repeat. While playing, it helps to speak the syllables of 'one ba-na-na,' which is also the same as 1, 2, 3, 4.

What is the djembe used for?

The djembe drum is a versatile instrument that can be used for music production as a bass drum to add African rhythms to your music. Aside from that, it also works well for performances. It's great for mindfulness because it requires focus and staying in the moment to play it well.
