Made in the remote Peruvian Amazon by the Shipibo tribe. Each one is beautifully decorated depicting their animals, hummingbirds, plants and native art. The simplistic design on this Shipibo shaker has been made by hand from wood, feathers, fabric and a mix of natural produce. The Shipibo shaker has been made in the remote Peruvian Amazon by the Shipibo tribe.
The shipibo shaker is made from the tutuma fruit which grows on the calabash tree (Crescentia cujete). We don't know what's inside the shakers to produce the sound but it could be small stones or smaller hard seeds known as Achira Seeds. The stick handle is made from Chonta Wood which resembles the grain of coconut and is commonly known as coconut hardwood. Due to the handmade nature of these products designs may slightly vary but loveliness comes as standard.
