The song was written by Katie Perry, Lukas gottwald, and Max Martin. Dr. Luke and Max Martin produced the music. The pop song was released on the 30th September 2011 and entered the top 10 in its sixth week, and peaked at no. 94 on the billboard hot 100. In the beginning of the music video Katy Perry is an older women looking unhappy when she gets home, it then goes back to the past when her and her boyfriend were having fun, him painting her and getting along well.

Dancing around, lots of laughing. He tattoos a love heart on her arm and when she’s older she holds it as a nice memory. Katy and her boyfriend are painting together and she doesn’t know what to paint so she gets mad and he ruins her paper so she chucks red paint all over his and he storms out with his things. The video ends by going back in time, her boyfriend had a car crash as he got distracted with something of hers that falls out of the visor and she as an older woman goes back to the place that he died.
