Toilet bombs are a great way to keep your toilet smelling fresh and clean all of the time. it only uses a few simple ingredients and are very easy to make, i would recommend making them up in batches.
You will need
- Bicarbonate of soda (1 cup)
- Citric acid (1/2 cup)
- Castile soap (1-2 bsp)
- Dried orange zest (one orange)
- Large bowl
- Ice cube tray
- Glass jar for storage
Place the bicarbonate of soda with the citric acid into your large bowl, squash any lumps with the back of a wooden spoon. Add in the dried orange zest and 1 tbsp of the castile soap to the mixture. Then stir well. You can use your hands or a spoon. Continue stirring and in the remaining 1 tbsp of castile soap one tsp at a time until the mixture begins to bind and hold its shape.
Once you can squeeze it in your hand and it holds its shape its ready to be placed into ice cube tray and left overnight to set. Once set place them into a glass jar and cover.
To use:
place one bomb into the toilet and leave it in there overnight, the acid will react with the toilet water and fizz, helping remove dirt and stains. The bicarb is a powerful deodorizer, you can add a few drops of essential oil for more of a nice smell.
