Description
Similar to the hosho shaker, the Raffia Shaker rattle is made from a single asalato seed and has a batik fabric wrapped around a stick for the handle. The shaker gives a soft sound and can be played singly or as a pair for light or heavy percussion. These funky little maracas come from Ghana in West Africa. They are made using local gourd nuts that are fixed on a stick and decorated with colourful Batik Kente, the local cloth.
